Sekyere Afram P: Assembly accounts to the people

The Sekyere Afram Plains district Assembly in the Ashanti Region has yesterday, held its town hall meeting at Drobonsu, the district capital.

The meeting was aimed at accounting to the people was on the theme: “Asses the impact of the governments flagship programme to the citizenry.”

The program was organised by the Ministry of Information in collaboration with the Information Service Department (ISD) and Ministry Of Local Government And Rural Development is also intended to bring governance closer to the people through open interactions from opinion leaders and other stakeholder on various developmental issues.

Speaking at the event, District Chief Executive of the area, Mr Joseph Owusu, said that the assembly is working assiduously to bring development to the area.

He said a lot of projects are being implemented and gave pictorial evidence on all developmental projects such as the construction of classroom blocks, mechanised boreholes, and toilet facilities among others.

Mr. Owusu also touched on areas such as; security, water and Sanitation, Education and Agriculture and other sectors of development.

On his part, the Ashanti Regional Director of information, Nana Akrasi Sarpong touched on all government policies and carefully explained it to the understanding of the citizenry, adding that the educational sector is the main priority for the government hence the free SHS policy.

He also advised the youth in the district to ensure that they grab the opportunity the government has given through its policies and programmes to improve their standard of living.
