Mr Opoku Bobbie is accused of flouting President Akufo Addo's directives of observing social distance and halting all political rallies amidst the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The President in about a month ago announced the suspension of all public gathering including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, sporting events and religious activities such as service in Churches and mosque for four weeks which has been extended for two more weeks as the country continue to battle with the coronavirus pandemic which Ghana has recorded over 600 cases, losing eight live as recording about 17 recoveries.

However, a concerned citizen and a party faithful of the Asunafo North Constituency whose name is withheld in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com reminded the Regional Minister to respect and abide by the decision taken by the President cautioning him not to be an agent in spreading the virus in the Region by halting all political activities and use his position to help educate the masses on the novel virus.

It is obvious the disease which has affected the whole world is causing a sleepless night to leadership globally striving to discover an antidote to fight the virus, for that matter a lot of measures is being put in place for the safety of the ordinary citizen but it seems the directives of the President fell on deaf ears of the Ahafo Regional Minister as he allegedly holds a political campaign hosting over 50 persons in kasapin including delegates of the NPP soliciting for a vote ahead of the Parliamentary Primaries.

It is gathered that the Member of Parliament Mr. Opoku Bobbie in one of his routine campaigns with his tour with his campaign team last Friday summons delegates from Kasapin electoral area in the Asunafo North Constituency which is made of eight polling stations including Kwaku kra, Kwame Saara, Kwame Amaade3, Akwaboahene, Kasapin CMB shed's A, AA, B and BB.

These, the party faithful have classified as gross disrespect on the part of the incumbent MP and the Regional Minister questioning why should a whole Regional Minister flout a directive of the President in the name of political power exposing innocent citizens to the disease.

He observed that "looking at the rate at which the virus keeps spreading in Ghana, our dear President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo is doing his very best to make sure the good people of Ghanaians will be safe at this critical times of which a lot of directives has been given across the length and breadth of the country.

Even though Ahafo Region has not recorded any case of the virus since its escalation of which the good people of the area are very grateful and continue to appreciate the good work of the Lord and the government praying he should keep on guiding and protecting us till we get a cure to this virus

"I want the Regional Minister to also understand that, he is not above the laws and if he would not obey, he should allow the people to respect the order of the President. If he cannot help to educate the good people of our dear Region about the coronavirus, then he should stop to help spread the virus".

He then seized the opportunity to call on people of the country to respect all protocols laid down by the health experts in fighting this COVID 19 pandemic.
