President Cut-sod to commence 100 bed capacities District Hospital.
As part of President Akuffo Addo and his government's plans to curb health issues and expand health facilities in the country, the government has decided to construct a modern 100 bed capacity District Hospital for the people of Shama.

The Sod-cutting ceremony for this project was graced by the presence of H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo, Western Regional Minister Hon. Kobby Okyere-Darko, Minister of Roads, Minister of Health, Hon. Ato Pamford (MP for Shama Constituency), District Chief Executive Hon. Joseph Amaoh, Chiefs from the Shama Traditional Council, Assembly members and Staffs from the Shama District Assembly.

The Regional minister, Hon. Kobby Okyere Darko expressed his delight for such a ceremony and appreciated the relentless effort of the Member of Parliament, Hon. Ato Pamford and his Abled DCE, Hon. Joseph Amoah for making this project a reality.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo assured the traditional rulers and the people of Shama District that the contractor, PolyChanda, will only use the local people as labourers, both skilled and unskilled, for the construction of the hospital, as this will help create employment for the people in the District.

The Minister of Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu said the NPP government has plans to make health care easily and readily accessible to every Ghanaian by the year 2030. The Hospital which is a 100-bed capacity structure will have every department of a district hospital including CT Scan which is normally not found in District Hospitals.

This project is estimated to cost 32 million Euros and it has been awarded to a Chinese Contractor, PolyChanda, a leading construction company in terms of health facilities and a project.
