Pru East Assembly elects new PM

Mr Patrick Yaw Boakye has been elected the Presiding Member (PM) for Pru East District Assembly in the Bono East Region.

The other contestant, Mr Yussif Sulemana stepped down in support and approval for Mr Patrick Yaw Boakye to contest unopposed.

Surprisingly, Mr Sulemana also called on his fellow members to vote massively for Mr Yaw Boakye to become the next PM of the Assembly.

However, Seventeen of the twenty-four (24) members constituting the Assembly, voted for Patrick Yaw Boakye to take over the Presiding Membership position.

The PM Patrick Yaw Boakye, in his acceptance speech, thanked the members of the assembly for the opportunity given him to serve as a Presiding Member.

He lauded members for the confidence reposed in him and assured them of bringing on board innovative policies to improve their welfare regardless of one’s political affiliation or tribe.

He entreated the members to work in unity devoid of partisan politics for the progress of the District.

The Pru East District Chief Executive, Alhaji Abdulai Adams charged the Assembly to exist as a strong team with the interest of the District at heart. He reminded them that their call to duty is a call to serve with all humility and must not fail their electorates.

The election was conducted by the District Electoral Commission. It took place at the District Assembly Conference Hall.
