SUNYANI M: MCE nominee receives 100% endorsement

Assembly Members of the Sunyani Municipal Assembly have confirmed the nomination of Madam Justina Owusu Banahene as new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area.

She obtained a 100% endorsement after all 47 Assembly Members voted yes in a smooth and transparent election held earlier today 3rd May, 2019.

The election was supervised by an Electoral officer, Mr Nuunu.

Regional Minister of the Bono East, Evelyn Ama Kumi-Richardson, who represented the President, later led the new MCE to take the Official Oath and the Oath of secrecy.

In her acceptance speech, Madam Owusu Banahene thanked all and sundry for the overwhelming endorsement, support and confidence reposed in her and pledged to continue the good works of her predecessor.

She vowed to run an open door administration as she used the opportunity to ask for all hands on deck to help move the municipality forward.

On her part, the Regional Minister also rallied support for the new MCE in order to enable carry out her mandate efficiently and effectively.

In other development, the Minister has also presented motorbikes to the Municipal coordinating director, Mr Samuel Gyimah for onwards distribution to assembly members in the area.
