MCE urges matriculants to take their academics seriously

The Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Benjamin Kessie, joined Tarkwa Nursing and midwifery to celebrate the matriculation ceremony for their first year students at the college's quadrangle.

The MCE pledged to support them with an amount of GH¢ 5,000 and urged the matriculants to abide by the rules and regulations of the school as well as taking their academics serious.

He advised them to be passionate and desist from priotizing personal gains to harm the patients they are to serve when they are successfully done with their programmes and enrolled into the health service.

Mr. Kessie pleaded with the tutors, to continue with their hard work to produce the best health professionals for the nation to save lives, and also commended the parents for their effort and investment throughout the educational lives of the students to their college level and also admonished them to continue the support to achieve the purpose of being in the institution.

He therefore assured them that the Assembly is committed to providing the needed support to facilitate the smooth running of the school as the assembly is in the process of providing 120 lecture hall chairs for the school.

The school's principal, Mrs. Patience Lawaane revealed that a total number of 998 applied to the institution in the 2022-2023 academic session but 236 candidates were offered admission.

She said, her vision is to make the school a college of nursing and midwifery that is one of the best in the country and most preferred in Western region, making significant contribution to the society and one that can be attractive among nursing and midwifery colleges.
