North Dayi residents receive free eye screening and surgery
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of North Dayi, Mr Edmund Attah Kudjoh in partnership with Hilmayan Cataract Project and Eye Specialist Doctors from Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Margret Marquat Catholic Hospital has organized a free eye screening and surgery between at some selected communities within the district.

The purpose of the screening was to look out for patients suffering from cataract, so that they can be operated on and treated for free.

The DCE in a short speech charged the various communities to take advantage of the resources available to screen them for free against blindness and cataract.


Again, he urged the good people of the district to work together and follow protocols established by the Ministry of Health and national strategies in the fight against cataract and blindness.

He also pledged his commitment to continue organizing the eye screening periodically in order to fight against cataract and blindness.


In all, over 500 people were screened, out of which 45 cataract cases were referred to the Margaret Marquat Catholic Hospital for free surgery.
