RELC is a platform which brings together researchers, agricultural extension officers, food processors, farmers and the various stakeholders to discuss and find solutions to challenges faced by farmers in the agricultural value chain.

The RELC regional coordinator, Mr. Nicholas Addai encouraged the farmers to approach the Agric Officers to teach them the new farm practices.

Some of the farmers enlisted their challenges and constraints which include lack of storage facilities, unavailability of seeds, pest and diseases control and short life of produce.

They also express the need for a veterinary clinic and a slaughterhouse in the district.

The Agric Director of the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly, Madam Esinam Bonsu acknowledged most of the farmers for using the new breeds to achieve high yields.

She was optimistic that, proper medication and good husbandry practices for farm animals, training farmers on good agricultural practices and integrated pest management, and effective usage of agrochemicals, would solve most of the challenges and further indicated that, there would be an availability of improved seeds, Veterinary clinic and a recognised slaughter house in the district.
