Adansiman football park commissioned

Obuasi East is known for producing talented footballers, some of whom have gone on to represent the nation at different levels.

Despite its contribution to Ghana football in terms of unearthing talents, the town can only boast of Len Clay Sports Stadium built by Ashanti Goldfields Corporation in the early 90s as the only standard facility in Obuasi and its surrounding communities.

This has prompted the Member of Parliament for the area Dr. Patrick Boakye- Yiadom to intervene by revamping the Adansiman football park at Akaporiso.

The MP at the ceremony to commission the football park alluded to the fact that the pitch will boost sports at the juvenile level and help in unearthing more talents for the country and also revealed that plans are far advanced to construct Astroturf at Pompora in the Obuasi East District.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Obuasi East, Madam Faustina Amissah also talked about the benefits of the facility to the District.

She said the District is on the right track in terms of infrastructural facilities adding that the Adansiman football park will encourage more people to develop an interest in sports.
