DCE destroy galamsey equipment
Following reports from indigenes that some illegal mining activities have left the people of Beposo in the Atwima Mponua District suffering acute water shortages and muddy nature of the Offin River, the District Chief Executive for the area Mr. Kofi Marfo and his team has embark on an inspection tour to get first-hand information on the situation.

The DCE indicated that the aim of the exercise is to arrest, prosecute and destroy all equipment and also to see to it that they stop their heartless activities but unfortunately operators of the machines escaped arrest.



Mr. Marfo and his team seized 3 motor bikes and brought to the Nyinahin Police command, 5 Changfan machines and 2 Engines of Changfan machines were also destroyed.


Indigenes showed much appreciation to the DCE and his team for coming to their aid. They noted that the activities of these people have deprived them of their livelihood and killed all aquatic creatures.

They beseeched the DCE and his team to visit the place frequently to enebly them arrest the culprits.
