This, he said, would not only help the assembly to save huge sums on rubbish evacuation but also stem the breaking out of communicable diseases.

Addressing members of the assembly at the general assembly meeting at Twifo Praso, Mr Andoh informed the house that the refuse at Hemang, Jukwa, Mampong and Twifo Praso have all been removed and the sites fumigated.

He expressed concern that the refuse dump at Frami was already heaped up and spreading into the road and appealed to people from that community to put a stop to indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

On education, Mr Andoh said the assembly was strategizing to improve education standards and among the measures taken was the enforcement of prep hours by the assembly's education subcommittee and research to ascertain the cause of low standards in the district.

He described as laudable the National Language Acceleration Programme (NALAP) which was recently introduced and under which all lower primary pupils will be taught in their local language.

Mr Andoh appealed to assembly members to educate their people on the new policy for them to assist teachers for its smooth implementation.

Mr Michael Adorvlo, the Presiding Member, expressed concern about late attendance at assembly meetings and appealed to members to change.
