New Juaben Assembly supports football teams
The Municipal Chief Executive for the New Juaben Municipal Assembly, Kwabena Okyere Kusi, over the weekend presented football kits to about fifty (50) local teams in the Municipality.

The presentation worth thousands of Ghana Cedis is expected to boost the morale of the local teams and players to enable them exhibit their youthful exuberant in football.

The teams which are grouped into ten (10) are under the sponsorship of Joy Industries Limited, a company based in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

Some of the teams include Effiduase, Anlo Town, Empire, USA, Westland, Zongo, Nkurakan all stars as well as Appau FC.

Presenting the set of Jerseys to the various teams, the New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive commended the organisers of the programme for promoting football in the Municipality. 

He emphasized that gone were the days that Eastern Region had representatives in the National League Table.  As a result of this, it is incumbent on the various stakeholders who are interested in supporting sports to do so to enable us curb robberies and other promiscuities in our societies.

He further appealed to all benevolent organizations to come and invest in the other sporting disciplines to promote the Municipality.

Mr. Okyere Kusi said that in order to revamp sporting activities in the Municipality, the Assembly has sponsored two (2) people for a coaching course so that they can bring their experiences on board to enhance the local football.  The two people are Kingsley Boateng and Jonas Arkoley.

According to the MCE, the President as well as the Assembly is committed to developing football talents in the country.  He further appealed to all and sundry to rally behind the government to achieve its transformational agenda to ensure that football and other sporting activities are well developed.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Joy Industries Limited, Kingsley Boateng thanked the Municipal Assembly and the Presidency for the gestures and said it will go a long way to promote sports in the Municipality.

He cautioned the recipients to ensure that the kits are well maintained to serve their intended purpose.

Mr. Boateng assured the Assembly that the organisers would ensure stringent monitoring on the items so that it would benefit the future generation.
