KINTAMPO: NABCO marks first anniversary
The Nation Builders Corps, NABCO in the Kintampo North Municipality has marked its first anniversary with series of activities.

All trainees under the seven (7) modules of including Educate Ghana, Heal Ghana, Enterprise Ghana, Civic Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Feed Ghana and Digital Ghana engaged themselves in a week long programme of activities to mark the anniversary.

On Monday, October 7, 2019, the trainees ably assisted by Zoomlion Ghana Limited with tools and other equipment took to the Kintampo Township with a clean-up exercise that saw them also desilt some gutters along major roads in the Municipal Capital.



Then came a float through the principal streets of Kintampo amidst brass band music. Trainees were adorned in their NABCO cloth and T-shirts with a banner outlining the schedule of activities for the celebration of the anniversary and the theme; “Investing in the youth, securing our future through opportunities for work and nation building”. The float started at the Kintampo Community Centre and ended at the office premises of NABCO.

Consequently, a donation of soft drinks, food provision, baby diapers and others were also presented to patients at the children’s ward of the Kintampo Government Hospital by the Municipal Coordinator for NABCO Mr. Ankom Enoch on behalf of the trainees in the Municipality.



Mr. Ankom Enoch, Municipal NABCO Coordinator said NABCO has come to improve public service delivery and improve government revenue.

He also said 416 youth were deployed in the Kintampo Municipality, with 343 currently working. A total of 73 have acquired permanent status with private and public outfit as the rest continue to serve in the 15 government institutions with the support of the Kintampo Municipal Assembly.



He noted that, NABCO continue to reach out to deprived communities, contributing to the government’s flagship policy of Planting for Food and Jobs (PFS) as well as contributing to revenue mobilization.

Mr. IKS Bohahen, as the chairman commended the trainees for their efforts especially those in deprived communities towards nation building and called on continues dialogue between module implementation partners (MIP’s) and the NABCO secretariat so as to offer vacancies of permanent places to hardworking NABCO trainees first.
