Gomoa East Assembly spent GH¢81,259.00 on late DCEs funeral
The Gomoa East Assembly has been cited for excessive expenditure, spending Eighty-One Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty-Nine (GH¢81,259.00) Ghana cedis on the funeral of the late District Chief Executive (DCE), Isaac Ahunu Armah.

According to the 2015 Auditor General’s report, the Assembly spent an amount of Twenty-one thousand Seven Hundred and Nine Ghana cedis (GHc 21, 709) of its Internally Generated Funds (IGF) and GH¢ 59, 550.00 thousand Ghana cedis from the district Assembly common fund resulting in the said amount.

The Auditor General had since advised management of the Assembly to exercise moderation in expenditures on the staff benefits in order not to adversely affect its budget for planned projects.

Management from the Assembly accepted the AG’s observation and explained that the overrun expenditure was met out from the contingency and other budget lines from the IGF budget approved by the general Assembly.

Additionally all expenses pertaining to funeral expenditure were authorized and approved.
