Kwahu West Assembly engages community residents
The Municipal Chief Executive of Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, Lawyer Yaw Owusu Addo, together with the Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw Constituency, Joseph Frimpong held community engagement with chiefs and people of Wisiwisi, Odumasi and Abepotia and their surrounding villages.

The programme was attended by Nananom, opinion leaders, Assembly members, unit committee members, traders, artisans, farmers, miners and key management staff of the Assembly.

Issues of discussion centered on illegal mining, roads, trade, Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty (LEAP), education and agriculture.

Addressing the people, Mr Owusu Addo commended the chief and people making from the busy schedules to attend the event, describing it as a form of support for his administration.


He mentioned it was his responsibility to visit various communities from time to time to engage them in activities of the Assembly and Government and also to listen to their concerns and act upon them.

He again mentioned that the Assembly has the mandate to ensure that development gets to the people.

Addressing some of the concerns raised, he mentioned access roads would be created for the expansion of the communities.


He however, bemoaned the influx of foreigners in the communities engaging in illegal mining and this as a result causing rise in teenage pregnancy.

Ending his speech, he encouraged the people to engage in communal labour which is also their civic duty.

On his part, the MP also advised the people to take the education of their children seriously and encouraged them to take advantage of the free SHS.


He also called for continuous support for his leadership and encouraged the people to continue to believe in the Akufo-Addo government.

He donated 8 pairs of streetlights to the participating communities.
