The Gushegu district is yearning to turn around its economic fortunes through agric with a high commitment to expand the Mango Plantation Project and climate change captured under the Ghana Social Opportunity Project (GSOP).

The Gushegu district is yearning to turn around its economic fortunes through agric with a high commitment to expand the Mango Plantation Project and climate change captured under the Ghana Social Opportunity Project (GSOP).

A good number of the youth in the district, especially where the project is concentrated have been engaged so far to help break the cycle of poverty amid the locals in the area.

Mr Alhassan Fuseini, District Chief Executive of the Assembly in a recent interview with Ghanadistricts.com said with Kpatili community alone about 20 acre mango plantation has been secured.

Also with Sanpiga, a local community in the district about 10 acre of the mango plantation is established to assist improve the lots of inhabitants.

The mango plantation exercise amongst other things is thus intended to address the current deforestation problems, as well as help enhance environmental quality.
