The two projects cost GH¢540,000.
Mr. Benjamin Anhwere in his address said the assembly and the government are committed to the development of the people in the district hence the provision of the two projects.
The police and teachers’ quarters are going to at least improve on the accommodation challenges of the personnel of the two institutions to enable them to perform their duties well.
The DCE said the government and the assembly have been able to complete 50 projects within the eights year of NDC government in power in the district.
The Divisional Police Commander of Obuasi Division, COP AffulBoake thanked the DCE and the assembly members for the gesture and promised that they will take good care of the bungalows.
He recounted some of the achievement in terms of security issues within his jurisdiction including the mounting of security check point on all the major roads within the Obuasi Division to crump down on armed robbery activities. “We have been able to stop armed robbery activities for the past one year in this division and we shall continue to render the security service to the best of our ability” The Divisional Commander said.
The Adansi South District Director of Education Mrs. Evelyn Benewoe also thanked the government and in particular the District Chief Executive Hon. Penjamin Anhwere for the bungalow. Adding that these bungalows will enable the teachers who travel from Obuasi every day to school to be accommodated at Akrofuom and I hope it will impact positively, on the academic work of the school. She concluded.
Nana Amoah Agyekum the Gyaasehene who is also the regent of Adansi Akrofuom commended the DCE, the district assembly and the government for putting up such project to improve on education and the security of Akrofuom area. He expressed the hope that more of such projects will be added to improve on the standard of living of the people in Akrofoum and its environs.
The people of Akrofuom attended the inaugural ceremony in their numbers and they were very delighted for the two projects in the community.
