(DAMONGO) WEST GONJA : Gov’t will account for its stewardship-Mills

President John Evans Atta Mills, at a durbar of chiefs and peoples of Gonja Traditional Area in Damongo, in the West Gonja District, has reiterated that his government would not dissipate the country’s resources and would account for its stewardship.

President John Evans Atta Mills, at a durbar of chiefs and peoples of Gonja Traditional Area in Damongo, in the West Gonja District, has reiterated that his government would not dissipate the country’s resources and would account for its stewardship.
   
He also assured the people of the government’s commitment to fulfil its campaign promises by working hard to ensure that the right things were done to move the country forward to achieve its developmental agenda.
   
The President said that within a short period the NDC government had already done more than all the previous governments.
   
President Mills asked the people to continue to support the government to enable it deliver on its campaign promises of building a better Ghana.
   
He said improvements in the agriculture sector with reference to bumper harvest for this year were indications that the government was on the right track.
   
President Mills said that this was due to the provision of subsidise on
fertilizer and other farm inputs.
   
He said the government would not rush to implement policies that were not sustainable and in the interest of the people.
   
The Yagbonwura Bawa Abudu Doshie II, commended President Mills for choosing John Dramani Mahama, a citizen of Gonjaland, as Vice President of the country.
   
The Yagbonwura appealed to government to tar the Fulfulso-Damongo road to facilitate the movement of tourists to the Mole National Park and ensure that work on the Damongo township water supply system was completed on time to end water shortage in the area.
