SEKYERE SOUTH: DCE promises development for Sekyere South

The District Chief Executive for Sekyere South, Mr. Edward Kusi Ayarkwah, has called for unity among members of all the political parties and stakeholders in the district, and fight against poverty towards improving the lot of the people.

The District Chief Executive for Sekyere South, Mr. Edward Kusi Ayarkwah, has called for unity among members of all the political parties and stakeholders in the district, and fight against poverty towards improving the lot of the people.

According to the DCE, development and the provision of infrastructural
facilities must concern all stakeholders , irrespective of one’s political affiliation.

He has therefore asked them to join forces to push the district’s
develoment agenda for growth and improve the lot of the people.

The call follows concerns raised by the residents of Sekyere South
during a tour of a number of communities including Kona, Tano, Odumasi, Konya-Brehume, Asamang and Akrofunso, which bordered on poor roads, lack of potable water, schools, and teachers’ quarters in some of the communities, places of convinience, police stations and electricity.

Mr. Ayarkwah stressed on the need to accelerate development in the district and achange in attitude among the youth, in order to reduce
unemployment and poverty.

He further promised to support the renovation of the local police station and the court building at Agona, the district capital which are
in deplorable state.

The DCE is also considering the establishment of a new police station
for the people of Asamang and its environs, and gave the assurance that would be extended to benefit more schools in the area.

The people appealed to the government to , as a matter of urgency,
rehabilitate the roads in the district, particularly the road which links Agona to Effiduase.
