5 Districts to benefit from Compost and Recycling Plant
A stakeholder meeting has been held between officials of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Central Regional Coordinating Council, Environmental Protection Agency, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to discuss issues relating to the construction of a new Compost and Recycling Plant in the Central region.

The Regional Minister, Justina Marigold Assan in her address said, the engagement was centered on the construction of Compost and Recycling Plant as part of Zoomlion Ghana Company Limited’s Integrated Recycling and Waste Compost Plant (IRECOP), a waste processing and recycling facility to receive, sort, process and recycle waste.

She indicated that the Compost and Recycling plant will be situated in the Mfantseman Municipality and serve over five districts in the Central Region.


She added that a comprehensive assessment of the project, considering all factors that will facilitate the construction, managing the facility and community engagement has been done.

She concluded that when the plant is completed, issues relating to final disposal of solid and liquid waste will be a thing of the past and will help collectively in fight against poor sanitation issues in the region.
