He said, the situation, if not properly controlled has the tendency of triggering an outbreak of cholera and other deadly ailments across the district.
The DCE, who noted this when speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, further called on Ghanaians to be responsible for their health and environmental issues by ensuring proper waste disposal and open defecation across the district.
According to him, the assembly was collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure that, deprived communities are provided with proper places of convenience to help improve the situation of open defecation.
Meanwhile, the assembly is also said to be working assiduously to ensure the completion of a new water treatment project at Anfoega, the district capital. Mr. Edmund Atta assured that the assembly is still liaising with the Regional minister to get the project completed on time to ensure its intended purpose.
