Samira Bawumia donates to schools in Akwapem North
The 2nd Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Samira Bawumia through her Non-Governmental Organization, Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Project (SEHP) has presented books to ten Pre- schools in Akuapem Larteh in Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP) is a not-for-profit organization established with the purpose of empowering the underprivileged in Ghana through diverse social intervention projects such as Health, Education and Women Empowerment to improve lives.

In her address, Mrs. Bawumia emphasized the significance of early childhood development, indicating that a child's early years were the foundations of his or her future developments and was optimistic that the Library in the Box programme under the SEHP project would provide an avenue to build a strong foundation for children that will enhance their well-being and enable them to thrive.

Mrs. Bawumia indicated that her vision was to make a significant contribution to raising the next generation of leaders and critical thinkers in the country.

She said the SEHP with the support of Frangipani Books Ltd was embarking on the initiative to provide educational materials to at least 200 pre-schools across the country.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong expressed his deepest appreciation to the 2nd Lady and her SEHP for their kind gesture.

He indicated that the Library in the Box programme which was aimed at providing educational materials to schools was going to help deepen and sustain the government policy of Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE).

He further gave the assurance that the government would continue to invest in the educational sector of the economy and called on Nananom and the general public to continue to offer the necessary belief and support to the government.
