Ga West MCE elected Greater Accra Rep of NALAG

The Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Clement Wilkinson, has been elected as the Greater Accra Regional Representative of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG).

The MCE was given the nod at a recently held Regional Delegates Conference at Ampomah Hotel in the capital.

Mr. Wilkinson is expected to serve as the Regional Representative on the National Executive Council of NALAG, an Association that serves as mouthpiece of all Local Authorities in Ghana.

Speaking in an interview after his election, the MCE expressed his expressed his appreciation to the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, Presiding Members and Assembly members in the region for the confidence reposed in him and pledged his total commitment in ensuring a vibrant and unified NALAG.

He said the vision of NALAG is to promote high standards and best practices in local governance and decentralization.

He added that, NALAG also aims at promoting good governance at the local level through institutional strengthening, inclusiveness, empowerment of members, lobbying and advocacy for implementation of policies, and provision of conducive environment for improved performance of Local Government Authorities in Ghana.
