Asante Akim MCE distributes street lights

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asante Akim Central Mrs. Susan Akomeah has distributed 375 street lights to all elected Assembly Members to help improve the existing security within the Electoral Areas at night and prevent criminal activities.

The 25 elected Assembly members received 15 each of the street lights out of the 450 streetlights procured by the Assembly at the cost of GH50, 242.70 to be used in their various electoral areas.

At a brief presentation ceremony at Konongo-Odumase, the MCE indicated that the Assembly procured the lights from its share of the Common Fund to improve security and reduce the problem of darkness in various communities in the Municipality.

She then charged the Assembly members to collaborate with members of the Unit Committees and installed the lights at the right places in order to benefit all the communities to avoid unilateral decisions that would serve their personal interests.
