WENCHI: Methodist Singing Band holds 26th Biennial Conference
The Methodist Church Ghana has held their 26th Biennial National delegates conference of its singing band at Wenchi.

The conference was under the theme, “Go And Make Disciples Of All Nations” with the motive of intensifying the teaching ministry and ensuring effective singing towards disciple making.

The Most Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo, Presiding Bishop who was the special guest speaker said, the constitution of the Methodist Church Ghana enjoined singing band to ensure that all anthems and other musical items use during worship was edifying. Doctrinally sound and suitable for inclusion in a Methodist order of service, it’s a huge tasks he stressed.

He said it therefore behooved on the band especially the leaders to study their Bibles and related literature to know the truth and translate it into a song, teach it and sing it to make disciples for Crist.



He emphasized that this could only take discipline persons to do it.

Rev. Dr. Boafo stressed that the singing should reach out to people to live for Christ, since this noble aim would not be realized if it is not supported by transforming lives of the people adding that “as Methodist Banisters you have a double tasks in the Church’s quest to evangelize and Disciple the people to live under the Lordship of Christ”.

He finally mentioned that his prayer was that all members conducted themselves in a Christian manner and became role models to all, especially the younger generation. He charged on the leaders to read and understand the Faith and practices of the Methodist Church Ghana in other to teach others well.



Delegates from the various dioceses across the country opined that the conference, had help them know their stand and performance level in the church and in the lord.

Some have said that their coming together have given them much exposure and has also help them to learn new choir practices from the different convocation they had had. Others have also said that the conference had been a blessing and they are hoping that the next Biennial Conference would also come with its own glory.
