Jaman North NPP elect Constituency Executive
Eligible voters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Jaman North Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region have gone to the polls to elect new executive officers to run the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Little over 500 delegates, representing 92 polling stations within 35 communities, cast their votes to elect 9 candidates out of the 26 aspirants who vied for such positions as Chairman and his two deputies; Secretary and his vice; Treasurer; Nasara Coordiator; Women Organizer and the Constituency Organizer. The position of the Youth Organizer was run unopposed in favour of the incumbent leader, Sie Kwabena Simon.

The peaceful but keenly contested election was supervised by officers from Jaman North Electoral Commission led by the District Directress, Dinah Asamoa; under the auspices of Madam Awo Banahene and Mr Yeboah Marfo, Regional and National Representatives of the NPP.

Mr Seidu Adams, Chief Executive Officer of "Opeele Motors", at the end of the election, secured 235 votes, representing 46.4% of the 506 total eligible votes cast to outshine his four (4) other contestants to the Chairmanship race in a fiercely competitive balloting.

Anane Ebenezer, Incumbent Constituency Secretary, obtained 317 votes (63%) to beat his only contender, Adolf Wilberforce Fayokum (187) to retain his seat whilst the Assistant Secretary position went to Solomon Owusu who got 302 votes, representing 59.9%, to unseat Samuel Obeng Kwaku who had 202 ballots.

The positions of Nasara Co-ordinator, Treasurer and Women Organizer went to Mamudu Ahmed Toure, Philip Yaw Barimah and Grace Yaa Takyiwaa polling 261 (61%), 258 (51.3%) and 359 (71.2%) respectively.

John Komoh Namah and Bio Francis Kwaku polled respective ballots of 261 and 175, representing 51.9 per cent and 34.7 per cent, to win the Constituency Organizer and 2nd Vice Chairman post respectively.

In a post-election tete-e-tete interaction with your authoritative ghanadistricts.com, the incoming 1st Vice Chairman whose votes surpassed all other aspirants, Alhaji Barus Siaka, expressed the compliments of his executive counterparts to the delegates for giving them the mandate to steer the affairs of the party at the constituency level.

Mr Barus, staunch and committed member of the party, who polled overwhelming 432 votes out of the 506 total ballots cast, to occupy the penultimate position of the party top hierarchy, pledged to team up with his superior authority to formulate concrete measures to reform the party from the grassroot level.

Mr Seidu Adams, Incoming Chairman, justifying the basis for the confidence reposed in the new executive, vowed to restructure the rank and file of the party to an appreciable level.

He vowed to bring on board the entire party faithful to join in the crusade aimed at strengthening the party, whilst roping in the losing candidates, the founders, past and current executive members to ensure that the NPP remained a notorious stronghold within the Jaman North Constituency.

On behalf of the losing candidates, Martin Asabere Fei-Poku, pledged the immense contribution of the aspirants in all manner of activities to transform the party to be more formidable and attractive, both at the local and the national levels.
