Internal auditors hold two days conference in Accra
Internal Auditors in Ghana’s Public Institutions are holding a two days annual conference in Accra, which has brought together, internal auditors from Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

The conference would be held from the 1st to the 2nd of August 2018 and is taking place at the Accra International Conference Centre.
It is on the theme, “Leadership and Good Corporate Governance - Key to Effective Public Financial Management”.
President Nana Akuffo-Addo was the special guest of honor.
Chairperson for the occasion, Dr. Esther Oduraa Ofei-Aboagye noted that the conference is important to craft a road map to address the challenges and find solutions to achieving effective public financial management.
According to Dr. Esther Oduraa Ofei-Aboagye effective public financial management is a necessary requirement of leadership and good corporate governance in the public sector which ensures improved delivery of public goods and services through fiscal discipline, economic and efficient use of public resources.
She further pointed out that the conference has incorporated more technical topics and knowledge sharing opportunities for participants.
This year’s conference is the first to be attended by a sitting President of the Republic as a guest of honor, she said.
Chief Executives of the various MMDAs also accompanied their internal auditors for insight into effective public financial management to aid their delivery at their respective assemblies.
