ISD-Ashanti Regional Director embarks on familiarization tour

Nana Akrasi Sarpong, the Ashanti Regional Director of the Information Services Department (ISD) has embarked on a day familiarization tour of various Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts Assemblies across the Region.

The visit was to acquaint himself with the performance of the District officers and also help ascertain various challenges confronting the department at the District level.

Some of the Districts visited are Kumawu, Effiduase, Juaben, Ejisu and Oforikrom Municipal Assemblies. The rest are Adansi North, Adansi Asokwa, Obuasi East and Obuasi Municipal Assemblies.

The tour, according to Nana Akrasi is also expected to cover other Districts such as Barekese, Kwaadaso, Suame, Old Tafo, Kwabra North and South, Mampoteng among others per the itinerary.

The visit also afforded the Regional Director, an opportunity to interact with the District Coordinating Directors (DCDs) and District Chief Executives (DCEs) in the various Districts to ascertain the problems facing the department.

In an interaction with District Information Officers, Nana Akrasi tasked them to be more proactive in discharging their daily duties by projecting the Assemblies various developmental projects undertook for past three and a half years.

He indicated that the Assemblies will only aid the department as and when they recognize the usefulness of the ISD offices and thus urged them to refrain from habitual absenteeism and rather be punctual at work at all times.

He seized the opportunity to plead with the various District Coordinating Directors and Municipal Chief Executives to support the department to propagate government policies and programmes in the Districts.
