Berekum West inaugurates District Health Committee
An 11-member District Health Committee to ensure quality health service delivery in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region has been inaugurated at Jinijini, the District Capital.

The members were drawn from Institutions and Departments such as the District Assembly, Health, Traditional Council, Media and religious the Religious bodies with Nana Thomas Diawuo Nifahene of Jinijini as its Chairman.

Nana Dr. K. Owusu Boampong Secretary to the Regional Health Committee explained the purpose of the committee as among other things to advise management and ensure quality health service for the people in the District. The committee she said was to come out with various modalities and channels including media, face-to-face, durbars, groups and institutional campaigns to ensure its mandate.

In his inaugural speech, Mr. John Afrane Boateng chairman of the Regional Health Committee urged the members which he described as youthful to bring their youthful exuberance to bear on the performance during their tenure of office. “The campaign for quality health service is not for health personnel alone to pursue but a collaborative effort involving all, therefore I urge you to do everything in your capacity to support it”.

Chairman for the committee, Nana Tommy Diawuo on behalf of members of the committee pledged their commitment to work to the best of their abilities since matters of health care were paramount to achieving quality development in the District.
