Salvation Army spent $200,000 to improve sanitation in 20 basic schools
The Salvation Army Church of Ghana under their WASH program had executed 20 water closet toilet facilities and mechanized borehole worth $200,000.00.

The facilities have been provided in twenty basic schools in some parts of the country to help improve the status of their sanitation.

Speaking to the National Territorial Commander of the Church, Colonel Dr. Samuel Amponsah opined that their attention were drawn to the frequent ailments situation that pupils were subjected to as a results of unhygienic environmental conditions, therefore, they decided to spearhead the execution of the projects to curtail the challenges confronting the schools.



Dr. Amponsah stated this when they were inaugurating a 14-seater water closet toilet facility and a mechanized borehole at Nyanfa, a community in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region.

On his part, the Manager for Salvation Army Schools in the Ashanti, Bono, Ahafo and the Northern Regions, Charles Aduse Poku also hinted that their attention is not only on Sanitation but also on sports development.



According to him, they are rehabilitating football pitches, donating jerseys and footballs to the schools.

Besides, they are also training teachers who are sports inclined to offer requisite training and skills to the pupils.
