Pay your taxes - MCE urges Residents
The Municipal Chief Executive of Asante Akim South in the Ashanti Region, Alexander Frimpong has appealed to residents of Juaso and its environs to honour their tax obligations to support government undertake more infrastructural development.

He made this appeal during a town hall meeting organised by the Information Ministry in collaboration with the Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly at Juaso.

The meeting also aimed at presenting government policies and programmes at the district levels and to give the constituents the opportunity to make meaningful contributions on issues of development as a means of strengthening democracy and decentralization in the area.

The programme, the first of its kind in the Municipality attracted people from all walks of life with a recorded attendance of over 400 participants.

The participants included Regional Director of the Information Services Department (ISD), Nana Akrasi Sarpong, the clergy, traditional authorities, Assembly members, Heads of department, transport unions, the physically challenged, media, civil society, Muslims and among others.

The MCE in his keynote address, touched on some government policies and programmes which include, sanitation, health, One District- One Factory, Free education, revenue mobilization, NABCo, restored of teacher trainee and nurses allowance, LEAP and many others.

He said, there are more of such developments in the pipeline and will be rolled out soon for the benefit of the residents and Ghanaians at large.

The Member of Parliament for Asante Akim South, Asante Boateng, also used the opportunity to highlight on series of projects undertaken in the area which includes reshaping of feeder roads, construction of classroom block, CHPS compound, construction of footbridges, donations of cement and roofing sheets to some communities, financial support to brilliant students but needy and others.

On his part, the paramount chief of Gyadam who was the chairperson for the occasion, Nana Ayim Kum Nipa ll, commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Akufo-Addo-led administration for the introduction of the town hall meeting policy.

This he said will help showcase government performance and its achievements within the various District Assemblies.
