The Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs Christine Banbonve Amadu said the projects are expected to hook some 18 communities, however, contractors are currently working to connect 8 of the communities to the national electricity grid.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, she said the project on completion will have major positive impacts on the socio-economic lives of the people.

Among the communities to benefit include Nyenvaare, Tigboro Kane, Tugo, Tizza Kane, Ping, Guri, Danzugri, Kogri among others.

Mrs Amadu said with electricity, residents in the beneficiary communities would be able to do a lot of things including opening small businesses, light for students to study, recreational purposes, as well as improve security.

"You all agree with me that the provision of electricity can open up our communities here commercially and enable them to engage in jobs like welding, fabrication and modeling rather than moving to urban centers for non-existent jobs," he said.

Mrs. Banbonve Amadu said government’s goal was to provide every community with its fair share of development and that agenda is on course.

Mrs Amadu therefore entreated the people to cooperate and support the contractors to ensure the smooth completion of the project.
