Gov't would deal with challenges of B5 Plus Steel Factory- Alan

The Trade Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng has assured directors of B5 plus Steel Factory, the biggest steel Factory in West Africa that the government would do everything possible to deal with challenges that confront the factory.

Speaking at the commissioning of the factory at Ningo Prampram on Tuesday, the Minister said the progress of the investment would not be allowed to stifle due to challenges of electricity or water, adding every step would be taken to ensure the smooth running of the factory.

On congestion on the roads, Mr. Kyeremanteng is confident that the expansion of the Tema Motorway project would significantly decongest the road and give room to free-flow of traffic.

The Minister also disclosed that the government has established a cooperation to guide the development of an integrated iron and oil industry. “But the beauty of what is happening in Ghana is through the work that B5 Plus Company and other steel companies are doing, we have already started working on the downstream industries for steel when we start mining our iron ore, it will feed into the downstream industries such as B5 plus Steel Factory.”

The entire major industrialized countries including India, China among other countries, are where they are primarily because of steel, aluminum, plastics and other such products, he added.
