Planting for food and export gaining ground -NKWANTA N DCE
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Nkwanta North Mr. Jackson K. Jakayi has said that, the government’s flagship ‘Planting for Food and Export ‘programme is gradually gaining ground in the District.

According to him, the programme has so far enrolled over 215 farmers including 204 males and 11 and are currently benefiting from the free seedlings distribution by the assembly.

The DCE indicated over 28,485 out of the 50,000 nursed seedlings have been distributed to the farmers to cover a total of 712 acres in the area.

He disclosed 2 acacia woodlots, 6 hybrid maize demonstrations and 1 cassava demonstration have also been established.

He further mentioned that communities like Mamakura,Kofi Akura,Kofinyi,Kpassa East,Damanko,Azua,Tinjase,and Sibi have benefited from the programme, adding that farmers also had the opportunity to visit ation field to learn new technologies and good Agricultural practices to enhance their yields and in effect increase their income.
