Krachi Nchumuru - Gyato Akura gets CHPS compound

The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare, a non-governmental organization has handed over a Community-Based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound to the people of Gyato Akura in the Krachi Nchumuru District.

The modern CHPS compound with a mechanized bore hole financed by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare is intended to improve maternal and child health and prevent home delivery in the District.

Mr. Augustine Appiah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Krachi-Nchumuru in his address said he is pleased that fully furnished functional facility is serviced by two community health nurses, a midwife and a staff nurse will certainly ensure that the community will have the necessary complement of basic health services, especially for maternal and child health.

He acknowledged and applauded the commitment of the financier who pull resources to build the facility and entreated the citizenry to support government in the collective duty of making healthcare more accessible and available for all Ghanaians.

The DCE called on the private sector, civil society organizations, religious and traditional authorities and non-government organizations to come together and build effective, responsive and efficient health care systems to provide accessible services for the District.
