President lauds New Juaben Traditional Council
The President of the Republic of Ghana as part of his tour of the Eastern Region, particularly Koforidua the Regional capital has lauded the chiefs and people of the New Juaben Traditional Area for their effort to settle all chieftaincy disputes within the area.

He added that, this is what Ghana needs and want to hear from traditional leaders.

The President made this remarks when he called on the Daasebre Professor Emeritus Oti Boateng, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area.

Nana Addo who earlier on worshiped with St. Georges Catholic Church, Koforidua-Srodae reiterated his commitment to ensure that the composed Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) will not work.

He said this behavior is not part of us as Ghanaians; “our culture, customs and values should be respected at all times. There is no way CSE will be implemented in Ghana. And I want to assure all noble Ghanaians, religious leaders to maintain the confidence repose in me that it will not happen in Ghana”, he affirmed.

He was quick to add “that my critics are the brain behind this CSE. I urged you all to do away with them while I focus on the Free SHS policy which has come to stay.”

For his part, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area Daasebre Professor Emeritus Oti Boateng admonished all politicians in the country, to try as much as possible to settle all political disputes among them so as to give room for development.

According to him, the country will be appreciated to listen to debates on national issues which will focus on the substance of the issue under discussion rather than interventions which are full of insults and insinuations.

Daasebre Oti Boateng emphasized that the potential role of the traditional governance system in the socio-economic, environmental and geopolitical development of our dear nation is yet to be harnessed for sustainable community development after 60 years of independence.

To him, the critical development question of harnessing the institutional potential of traditional governance system as meaningful development partners and charge agent of complement effort at ensuring of broad-based and sustainable community development remains an illusion.

He explained that Traditional Area Development Day being institutionalized as part of traditional festivals is a Pan-African initiative to mobilize citizens and communities to implement the 1st Pan-African award winning Root-based Economic Development Model. This to him will be a creative way for traditional states to play a complementary role to government and the private sector in sustainable community development in Africa.

He was with the view that Nana Addo’s government would lend a support to the success of this project for the institution of Traditional Area Development Day in all Traditional Areas in the country.
