KWAEBIBIREM: Assembly to collaborate with NHIA to mop-up registration onto scheme
The Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region is keen on drawing a lot more people to accessing health delivery in order to improve the health of the people in the municipality.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Seth Antwi-Boasiako said the assembly will want to take advantage of the National Health Insurance Scheme, to reduce burden of people in accessing health delivery.

According to him, the Assembly is liaising with the National Health Insurance Authority to mop up registration of individuals yet to be hooked onto the scheme in the municipality to ensure a lot more people benefit from the intervention to reduce health financing on them.

Additionally, the MCE disclosed that they have been able to build one of the finest community-based health planning and service centre to augment the number of health facilities and improve accessibility.

Mr. Antwi-Boasiako noted that a direct linkage to health is access to potable water, adding that the Assembly trying to address potable water challenges to some communities contacted the Water and Sanitation Authority and as well as the Rotary club for assistance.

And the two institutions are constructing 5 mechanized boreholes for particularly hinterland communities where water challenge is endemic.

He is hopeful that completion of these mechanized borehole projects coupled with other water projects will bring relieve to beneficiary communities while they look forward to fing solutions to other communities facing similar constraints.
