DCE commissions 3 new projects
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Asuogyaman, Mr Samuel Kwame Agyekum has led a delegation to commission three separate projects in the district.

The projects include; a two hundred seater canteen (funded by the VRA Resettlement Trust fund) for the staff and pupils of New Senchi R/C Primary School at New senchi, a six(6) unit semi detached teacher Quarters at Mpakadan funded by VRA resettlement Trust Fund) and a six (6) unit classroom block with stores and office at Sedorm.

Speaking during the commissioning of these projects, Mr Agyekum noted that, the government and its agencies are committed to building major infrastructure facilities in all sectors of the economy particularly the educational sector.


He therefore encouraged the school authorities and the District Education Directorate to put in place proper maintenance measures to sustain the project for longer period of time.

The DCE furthermore promised to work with the Volta River Authority (VRA) to address concerns raised by Chiefs and the Mpakadan Town Development Council (TDC) on the compensation packages due the community.

The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister Hon. Samuel Nuertey Ayertey, who was present to grace the occasion, also encouraged the gathering to take advantage of the government's Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.


He further stated that, it was the priority of the Akufo Addo- led administration to have an educated human resource base to man the economy in future. The Deputy Minister thus encouraged the gathering to take advantage of the government's Free Senior School policy by the NPP government.

Mr Ayertey concluded by pledging to lobby for the expansion of the school feeding programme in the district.


The Executive Director of the VRA Resettlement Trust fund, Mr Twum Berimah used the opportunity to throw more light on the relevance of the fund.He said the fund exist to improve upon the livelihood of fifty two (52) resettlement communities through the provision of socio-economic projects in the Education, Health, Social And Sanitation sectors.


Mr Berimah also presented two sets of jerseys and two footballs to the New Senchi RC school upon a request by the school's authority.

The projects after the commissioning were officially handed over to the District Education Directorate.
