Asante Akim South activates Public Health Emergency Management Committee
The Asante Akim South Municipal Assemblly in the Ashanti region has as part of its efforts towards strengthening the Municipal Public Health Emergencies Response System, held a one day stakeholders meeting to activate the Municipal Public Health Emergency Management Committee (MPHEMC).

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Alexander Frimpong indicated that the committee will plan, prepare and mobilize resources to ensure early detection, response and management of public health threats and events including disease outbreak.
He further explained that this will curb late response to emergency disease outbreaks in the municipality.
The MCE with the help of the Municipal Director of Health Service and Disease Control Technical Officers facilitated the meeting.
Also in attendance included the Presiding Member (PM), assembly members and heads of departments at the Municipal Assembly.
