DPAT which replaces the Functional Organisation Assessment Tool (FOAT) is a diagnostic instrument for assessing the performance of MMDAs and for determining the allocation of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).

The Northern Regional Minister, Mr Salifu Saeed on behalf of the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama explained that, DPAT was developed as a result of work development partners to harmonise future support to local government sector through the Sector Wide Approach (SWAP) to decentralisation.

Again Mr Salifu encouraged MMDAs to focus on the new DPAT indicators and how they will apply in the upcoming 2016 assessment.

He ended by throwing a word of caution to the MMDAs to work hard to pass the assessment in order to access funds to implement their Medium Term Plans.
