NKORANZA S: Tricycle operators warn against operating without license

Tricycle owners in the Nkoranza South Municipality have been advised to release their tricycles only to people with permit or license.

The Municipal Police Commander, Supt.William Gyamfi made the call when he met the tricycle owners and riders to discuss and educate them on their operations.

According to him, it is important for only those with permit and license to operate the tricycles to ensure safety of pedestrians and other road users. He also advised against under aged persons operating the tricycles.

The Police Commander also touched on an important area of concern, thus advising owners of tricycles to reduce their daily sales for the operators to help minimise reckless ridding and for good maintenance practices.

He warned against disregard for road regulations, adding that those that would be found culpable would be made to face the full rigors of the law. His caution also included riding in the night beyond 10pm, and overloading, as well as the use of unregistered tricycles.

The Municipal Chief Executive for the area, Diana Attaa Kusiwaa also bemoaned reckless riding in the municipality as well as their attacks on personnel of the Community Police Protection.
