West Akim MCE donates pickup and motorbikes to MoFA
Workers of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) Directorate in the West Akim Municipality have been presented with , one (1) 4x4 pickup and eleven (11) Debi motor bikes secured by Government under Modernizing Agriculture in Ghana (MAG) program funded by the Canadian Government.

Addressing the workers during the presentation, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Seth Oduro Boadu urged the workers to keep in view the current governments policies; planting for Food and job (PFJ) and planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) and work diligently to ensure a successful implementation of these programs.

The MCE, stated that MoFA has no option to fail since the Government has provided them with one 4x4 Nissan pickup and 11 motorbikes for general extension service delivery of farmers. Again their General performance will be measured in the yield and produce of our farmers in the coming years.

Mr Oduro Boadu advised staff who will be using the motorbikes to practice the culture of maintenance to enhance the lifespan of the motorbikes.


Again, promised to set up a 2-member monitoring team with the help of the MOFA leadership to ensure the effective use of the motorbikes.

On the other hand the MCE took the opportunity to visit the nursery for the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) where they have nursed about 45,000 palm seedlings for free distribution to the farmers to plant in their farm to help boost the Local Economic Development (LED).



Mr Oduro Boadu thanked the President H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo - Addo for helping the farmers to better their livelihood through the intervention.
