The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) is a project which started in 2005 to provide food for children at school. It is run by the GSFP Secretariat in partnership with some international agencies including the World Bank and the World Food Programme.

The goal of the policy is to deliver a well-organized, decentralized intervention and provide disadvantaged school children with locally produced food thereby reducing poverty, increasing enrollment and sustaining children’s interest at school.

Mr. Jibril made this known when he visited the Jafo Experimental Primary Schools A and B in the district.

The DCE, as part of his interaction with teachers and pupils in the schools announced that, the two schools have been selected to benefit from the School Feeding Programme, adding that the caterers were to assume duty as soon as possible.

He encouraged the teachers and staff to go the extra mile to bring out the best in the pupils.

He also seized the opportunity to advise the pupil to take their studies seriously in order to obtain good grades to enable them benefit from the government’s ‘Free SHS’ policy.
