Newly recruited staff of OHLGS oriented
The office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) has oriented its first set of new entrants and staff posted from various Metropolitan, Municipal District Assemblies (MMDAs) into the Local Government Service (LGS).

The one-day orientation programme which was held at the conference room of the OHLGS was to sensitize the new staff on the mandate of the service and the laid down protocols in the Service.

The Director of Administration at the OHLGS, Ms. Golda Asante, who opened the orientation programme on behalf of the Head of Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur said, the programme was organized to build the human capacity of the recruited staff with the requisite skills and knowledge to help improve their service delivery at the Local Government Service.


She said the facilitators who have been selected for the orientation programme were experts in the field of Local Governance and Decentralization and urged staff to give them their maximum corporation for deeper understanding.

The programme treated topics such as the Decentralisation, Local Government System, Protocols, Structures, and the functions of the LGS.

Discussions at the programme gave the newly recruited staff the platform to ask questions and seek clarification on issues of concern for deeper understanding of the rudiments in the Service.
