I will fight sanitation challenge in my community -Kona chief
Nana Konadu Yiadom Kumanin IV, the Chief of Kona-- a community in the Sekyere South District has stated emphatically that, their Traditional Council has made it a priority to tackle challenges of sanitation to the brim point.

He explained further that, such things as providing the necessary sanitation facilities ought to be done to curb the sanitation challenges that had bedeviled the community for long a time.

"It’s our wish that the steps we are taking become a sustainable goal to fight down sanitation for it to become worthy to be emulated by other community in Ghana to serve as blue print for the country".



He also unveiled that, they are constructing a police post in the Kona community to help intensify security measures in the area.

He finally appealed to the government and other cooperate organizations to run to their aid to help complete the police post.

He stated this during the official inauguration of a 30 seater-water closet toilet facility for the community.



The facility is expected to address and help win the fight against open defecation that also contributes largely to unhygienic environmental conditions.
