“We cannot succeed as a nation or people if we relegate the development and empowerment of women to the background”, she said.

The MCE was speaking during the Anglican University College of Technical Ladies week celebration held at the University premises at Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Madam Kusiwaa advised that the days that women belong to the kitchen are over, the days that women were baby making machines are over, the days that women waited at home to welcome her husband from work are over.

According to her we are in the days that women can do better what men can do; quoting Michelle Obama as saying “no country can truly flourish if it stifles the potential of women and deprives itself of the contribution of half of its citizens”.

She noted that women form about 52% of our population so when they are empowered economically they would not only transform themselves but their children, families, the society and Ghana as a whole.

She therefore commended the ladies for their resolve for quality education that will empower them adequately to make meaningful contributions to the development of the country.
