Take advantage of free SHS and educate your children - DCE

The District Chief Executive of Twifo Atti Morkwa, Hon. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi has advised parents to take advantage of the government’s free senior high school program and educate their children.

He gave the advice at the first quarter Town Hall Meeting organized by the Media Foundation for West Africa in collaboration with Arise FM and Twifo Atti Morkwa District Assembly at Twifo No. 1 on 22nd February, 2019.

He said, according to the District Education Director, some students who were fortunate to be posted to some senior high schools are still home without any reason from parents. He said, the national cake is meant for every Ghanaian and that parents should try their best to send the children to school.

Speaking on Planting for Food and Jobs, He said, the county, for the first time didn’t import maize due to the program and that farmers should continue their good work. Rearing for food and jobs, another government program which is under way is also a good program for farmers to rear livestock’s to earn a living so He advised farmers to take advantage of it when it’s launched.

He took the opportunity to promise farmers that, the government’s free seedlings given to farmers will continue this year with over 50, 000 palm seedlings and 1million cocoa seedlings so farmers should exercise patience.

Speaking on education, he said, government is introducing a new scholarship scheme for tertiary students and will be done at the district level so that every citizen can benefit.

He took the advantage and highlighted on some developmental works done during his reign.

The town hall meeting is a program organized to help educate the people in the district on government programs and development undertaken and give the citizens the opportunity to ask questions.
