Re-echoing the President’s earlier pronouncements, the DCE also underscored the importance of the programme, adding that aside its main focus of providing food for the citizens, it is also aimed at reducing the rate of unemployment especially, among the youth.

The DCE who stated this phone interview with Ghanadistricts.com also took the opportunity to inform potential participants of government’s assistance by supplying of them with fertilizers, provision of extension services among others.

He said the assembly was still liaising with the Youth Enterprise Agency’s (YEA) office in the district about the possible ways of getting more of the youth to register onto the programme.
