Prez Akufo-Addo directs MMDCEs to remain at post
President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives to remain at post until further communication from the Presidency.

The directive is in accordance with Article 243 (3) of the 1992 constitution of Ghana.
A portion of a statement signed and issued by Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare read: " I am directed by H.E. the President to inform all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives who were at post immediately before the inaugural ceremony to remain at post until further notice."
The statement, however, warned MMDCEs from a taking decision involving a policy issue.
