Amansie South DCE relieved from office
Mr William Asante Bediako, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Amansie South has been relieved off his post with immediate effect, a statement issued by the Local Government Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama has revealed.

President Akufo-Addo has subsequently appointed Clement Opoku Gyamfi as Chief Executive of the district.
Although reasons for his dismissal were not clearly stated, Ghanadistricts.com believes his dismissal may have come as a result of his comments about some illegal activities.
The sacked DCE was earlier recorded to have encouraged the youth in the area to engage in illegal activities, a move that did not go down well with the President considering his long fight against illegal mining in the country.
Meanwhile, Mr Opoku Gyamfi may require the vote of not less than two-thirds members of the Assembly in order to become the DCE.
